Resource Management

The Resource Management support the economic activities of the County, promote the health of it residents, and protect the natural environment in which these functions take place. The integrated nature of a Resource Management Department is structured to respond to this challenge through management of personnel and resources to fulfill target programs and service needs on an annual basis. Each Division has distinctly different orientation and range of responsibilities yet this blend of skills and expertise allows a Resource Management Department wide latitude and flexibilities to respond to the needs of a county's residents. This commitment to enhance public sevice delivery is consistemt with the overall mission of the Department.

Planning Department/Division

The Planning Division has primary responsibility for zoning and land use permits as well as long-range planning and local administration of State environmental review laws. These activities include the review and management of public and private development proposals, such as subdivisions, use permits, site development permits, variances, General Plan amendments, rezoning, and a variety of other minor zoning permits.
